Rosh Hashanah 2021

For as long as she could remember, Orit’s world simply consisted of her and her father. The best of friends, they experienced everything life offered as one. In her sleep, Orit would dream of chasing butterflies together in fields, paddling in cool water together on hot days and sharing stories under the stars.

When Orit was just five years old, her father was tragically killed in a car accident. Overnight Orit’s dreams turned into nightmares.

The trauma of becoming an orphan impacted every aspect of Orit’s life – emotionally, mentally, physically, socially and academically. Her days became dark, her heart felt defeated; even getting out of bed in the morning was a hurdle, and her friends were too young to understand.

However, through the support of specialised projects funded by Jewish Child’s Day, Orit is learning to dream once more. The educational development programme to which she was admitted, rekindled in her the belief that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and allowed her to open her mind once again to the possibility of a brighter future.

Jewish Child’s Day relies on the support of our loyal supporters to fund these life-changing projects.

Your support will make a Jewish child’s day.

Thank you.
