Jewish Children of the Year Awards Ceremony 2010

Over 400 people attended the Jewish Children of the Year 2010 Awards Ceremony at Arts Depot in Finchley. This year nominees and winners received their prize in an Oscar style ceremony, complete with red carpet, giant Oscar statuettes and paparazzi. The ceremony was ably hosted again by Nick Ferrari and the awards were presented by Dame Gail Ronson.

The Jewish Child's Day office was BURSTING with Judaica collected for Mitzvah Day. The Judaica will be shipped to the Jewish Community Centre in Polotsk, Belarus.
Jewish people in Belarus are proud of their culture and heritage, but, years of religious intolerance have made it impossible to buy Judaica of any kind there.
Life in Belarus is still very hard for most of these Jewish families. Many live in houses with poor sanitation, no access to running water or central heating. Wages are low, prices for basic things are high, but despite all this these communities have real commitment to Jewish life and Jewish values and to ensuring that Judaism in Belarus persists.
More than this, they are delighted that communities in the UK care about them, it is incredibly meaningful for them and without support they simply can't continue.
